An MR Arthrogram is a two-part exam which shows more detail of your joint than an MRI scan itself. The joint is frozen, and contrast is injected into the joint by our Radiologist.
This injection is performed under fluoroscopy (X-ray). After the injection is complete, we perform an MRI scan on the area injected.
MR Arthrogram can be used in the following areas: shoulder, hip, wrist
Fluoroscopy is a procedure that provides real-time X-ray imaging that is useful for guiding interventional procedures. We use Fluoroscopy for Direct Arthrogram.
